Janet Jackson Brings Tour To Jakarta

Janet Jackson's next stop on her largest ever world tour will be Jakarta. will hit the Indonesian Island on February 9th. Fans voted and submitted their suggestions and Janet will be performing her 35 number ones hits there. Fans submitted suggestions to www.janetjackson.com to have their city selected the winning cities so far have been Singapore on February 7th, Hong Kong on February 14th, and Taipei on February 18th, Manila on February 4th and now Jakarta. The Jakarta show will take place at the Plenary Hall Jakarta Convention Center.

This tour will differ from her previous concert schedules in that she will perform music exclusively from her chart topping CD NUMBER ONES. There will also be a focus on venues that will allow Janet to be up close and personal in a much more intimate setting. In each selected city JANET will offer something different to her performance so no show will be the same. This tour is JANET more revealed, more intimate, and more personal than ever before. Starting from a variety of musical performances, one of them is Java Jazz 2006-2007, Pasto was formed through a talent show "Bintang Cari Bintang" that's broadcast by Trans TV on November 11, 2002. Pasto name itself was conceived by the artist Glenn Fredly, which means something that has a tireless spirit. consisting of four personnel, Bayu, Rudolph, Meeltho and Rayeen finally given the opportunity to make an album under the touch of Glenn Fredly.

But it turns out over time the integrity of this vocal group can not afford a solid. The group had disbanded, and then raised by Maia as a producer.

Together with Maia as a producer, Pasto with the new formation Rayeen (vocals & guitar) and Meeltho (vocals & keyboards), they returned to Indonesian music industry by releasing the single hits titled "Aku Pasti Kembali", a song from RATU with a new music arrangement.

Pasto also a slight change in the music. If earlier they tend to the genre of black music and R & B, but now the mainstay of Pasto with the song "I Need You", "Simpanan" and "Kata Hati" was featured more pop and less rock.

Mid-2009, Pasto re-released the single "Jujur Aku Tak Sanggup". and continued with the hits single "Tanya Hati" at the end of 2009.

Sandhy Sondoro, was born on the island of Java, Indonesia. Came from a musical family, where the house provide the likes of American pop, folk, Jazz and blues tunes coming from his Mother’s or father’s guitar everyday. Those were the joy that shaped his talents . It is not traditional Indonesian music that influenced him but rather soul and blues. Sandhy Sondoro is not only an excellent singer, song writer, and guitar player he also has many other proficient talents like drawing and cooking. In Indonesia Sandhy Sondoro started to play in a band at high school. They did mostly covers of Van Halen and Mr. Big or The Black Crows.

At the age of 18 he went to visit his uncle in California and stayed there for a while. Over a year later he went to Germany to study architecture. He first had to improve his German proficiency to be admitted at the university. He graduated in interior design but his passion for singing and playing the guitar was stronger than the wish to work in an office. His first experience as a street musician was gained in Biberach on the Riss in Baden Wurttemberg in 1996. The international flair of Berlin attracted him and inspired him. In 1998 he moved back to Berlin and started his career as Sondoro singing and playing the guitar in bars, clubs and in the metro. His famous song Down on the streets was inspired by the experience gained in Berlins metro. He performs also in famous theatres like the House of World Cultures in Berlin, plays at music festivals like at the Bode museum isle festival. He has fans in Hamburg, Cologne, Stuttgart and many other places in Germany. Sandhy Sondoro’s music is influenced by American and British rock legends like the Beatles and Led Zeppelin.

The power of his voice reminds us of Curtis Mayfield und Marvin Gaye. Sandhy sings ballads which express love and his longing for peace. When singing rock songs his voice can turn into a powerful volcano that sounds like Joe Cocker or Roger Chapman. Sandhys voice is so flexible that he is sometimes called the Ben Harper of Jakarta. The Berlin-based artist Sandhy Sondoro was one of the participants in Stefan Raabs song contest SSDSDSSWEMUGABRTLAD and finally ranked 5th in December 2007. On April 25, 2008 he published his debut Album with the title “Why Dont We” his sophistication for love, peace, and harmony. The album was very well responded around central europe although distributed through indie networking. The Smashing Pumpkins at Java Rockin'Land 2010

The presence of The Smashing Pumpkins in Java Rockin'Land 2010, it became the most awaited band. SORE or Sore Ze Band is an Indonesian Indie Band from Jakarta. originally formed by three childhood friends (Ade Paloh, Mondo Gascaro & Awan Garnida). In late 2001 Awan Garnida brought two other friends (Bembi Gusti & Reza Dwiputranto) and together they formed a group which they called Sore (means "late afternoon" in Indonesian). In 2004 and early 2005 they contributed two songs in a couple of compilation albums, the first was a compilation of music from Jakarta’s indie scene called "JKRT: SKRG" (an abbreviation of "Jakarta, Sekarang" which translates "Jakarta, Now") released by Aksara Records. The other was an original motion picture soundtrack "Janji Joni", also released by Aksara Records.

They released their full-length debut album Centralismo (Aksara Records) in the summer of 2005, which was in part became their tribute to Central Jakarta, where most of the members grew up. The music varied greatly from track to track as each member contributed lead singing and song-writing in this album. Their vintage instrumentation, like the use of vibraphones, mellotron, and horn section is reminiscent of popular music in the 50's, 60's and 70's.

The first album was praised by The Time Magazine Asia as "One of Five Asian Albums Worth Buying", and Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine ranked it the 40th in "150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time". The fifth single, "No Fruits for Today", also ranked as one of "150 Greatest Indonesian Songs of All Time".
While preparing their materials for their second album, they contributed to four original soundtrack albums: "Berbagi Suami" (Love for Share); "Kala" (Dead Time); Quickie Express; "Perempuan Punya Cerita" (Chants of Lotus), one of which became a hit single, "Pergi Tanpa Pesan", a reworking of an Indonesian classic from the late 1950s.

In April 2008, three years after the release of their debut, they released their second album entitled Ports of Lima (Aksara Records - 2008). The Rolling Stone Indonesia voted it as Best Album of 2008 (number one) by the Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine.

SORE is a Jakarta-based indie band whose musical eclecticism makes a simple comparison almost impossible. Imagine the Beatles grew up in the Pacific, listening to the music of Steely Dan, Morrissey, Interpol, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and some obscure Indonesiana of the 1970's. Their music is a curious blend of traditional pop song-writings and mood explorations, ranging from the calmest whisper to the Wagnerian exuberance of the horn sections and fuzz guitars.

Restless is a Gothic Metal band from Indonesia. Restless born from the underground community in Ujungberung, Bandung. at that time, Ujungberung's underground music community has planning to make the phenomenal music project which is combination of all underground bands from Ujungberung. and the music project successful and resulting Ujungberung Rebels or Independent Rebels music compilation. and Restless, is a part of that music compilation and the songs entitled "Embun Suci" is the Restless's hits song.

FYI, Ujungberung Rebels Community was produce many great metal bands such as Jasad, Forgotten, until the most famous Burgerkill.

Positive response from metal music lovers in Bandung, makes Restless increasingly convinced and confident to make a mini album. Restless's The first mini-album (Bentangan Sunyi), released in 2000 with hits song "Bentangan Sunyi". remarkable result, the song is very famous among undergound music lovers in Bandung and even the song almost everyday played in one of Radio in Bandung that total plays of rock music (GMR FM). and in the period 2001 to 2002 they also doing album tour to Java - Sumatra.

After the first mini-album, and then Restless released the seond's mini-album titled Shadow of the Black (2003) and quite successful. and they album tour through the long process between the peroid 2003 to 2004. in 2005, Tru Lies Prod offered them to parties the third album on Kana Studio. Jazz Fest Wien was started in 1991 and has been known as a modern, urban festival with such an international reputation as one of the most Important Jazz Festivals in the world.

Previously, in 1992, He had released a solo album (instrumental) titled "From the Other Side" with Mark Bistany (drums) and John Stenber (Bass). and then this album released in the U.S., Singapore and Indonesia. One year later, He formed the band called Nosferatu and released the album "Visible But Untouched" in 1994. In addition, Tjahjo Wisanggeni also explore the music skills with more performs at clubs and became a guitar instructor at the Music Castle, Beverly Hills - California, USA, during 1999 to 2000.

In 2001, Tjahjo Wisanggeni back to Indonesia and immediately became a guest star on KLa Project, replacing the position that left by Lilo (KLa project's guitarist) until February 2002. in mid 2002, He formed a new band named Nalendra with Adi Darmawan (Bass) and Gusti Erhandy (Drum).

Numata is Indonesian band that consisting of 3 brotherhood who they are childs of the Indonesian singer, Tetty Kadi, namely Tantra (first child), Mhala (third child) and Inu (fifth child). Numata was formed in Bandung on July 2002 with the formation Duhita Panchatantra or Tantra (Piano), Simhala Avadana or Mhala (Vocal & Guitar) and Mahavira Vishnu Wardhana or Inu (Drums). Numata's band name actually has no special meaning. That's just their initials name, Inu, Mhala, and Tantra. Numata also is the name of a town that located near with Gunma city in Japan.

And the good news, which will be brought to a concert in Indonesia this year are the legendary rock band form Ireland, U2.

Plan of U2 Concert in Indonesia there's talks since 3 years ago of this plan between Tommy Pratama, Original Production promoter, and U2 management. Actually the U2 has agreed to held a concert in Indonesia in a series of tours this year (2010), but only few of the proposed terms there is one that is still a constraint. This tutorial will give you some tips and ideas about how to record electric guitar. While it may seem like an easy thing to record, and it is when compared to recording drums, there are still a ton of different ways that you can record guitar and get good results. It all depends on what type of sound you are going for. Here I will aim to give helpful tips and hints across the spectrum for recording guitars in general.

1. The first rule for recording guitars (and this is the closet thing you will get to a rule when it comes to recording) is to make sure that it sounds good at the source before putting up any microphones for anything. This means using the best possible guitar and amplifier combination possible and not sacrificing that for anything. If it does not sound good from the source, there is nothing that you would be able to do to make it sound good later! Beyond the player, this is the most important thing when it comes to recording electric guitar.

2. The next tip for recording guitar is that if you are going to use effects, I would really recommend only using one or two at a time as the more pedals you have within the chain, the more the sound quality gets degraded because of it (unless of course you are using pedals that have true bypass). In a perfect world, I would say only use one effect at a time (unless you are combing) and overdub each effect with only the single pedal in the chain. This makes sure that you are getting the cleanest tone possible without having your signal degraded by pedals.

3. Once you have set up your guitar and are happy with the tone that you have gotten, the next step is to choose a microphone or two that would like to use. The first thing that I do is set up a microphone that is close up on the grill and line it up with the center of the cone of the speaker. I usually use either a Shure SM57 or a Sennhesier MD421 or 409 as I find that these mics do a great job of recording electric guitar up close. Since they are dynamic microphones they can handle a lot, and that is a necessity when recording electric guitar.

4. While a lot of engineers will only use one microphone for recording electric guitar, I always place another microphone about three feet back from the amplifier. This gives the guitar sound a little bit of the room, which I will then blend in together with the close mic when it comes time to mix. This part is definitely open to interpretation and there are a ton of ways to do this. One thing that I would recommend is using a large diaphragm condenser mic as that will pick up all of the subtle nuances that you want in a room sound. I usually use a Blue Kiwi or a Neumann U87, but any condenser microphone that you have available will work!

5. Once you have everything dialed in and the microphones are placed, you are ready to record! However, even after you record your job is not done as mixing the combination of microphones is quite important as well. I usually put the room microphone back in the mix a little bit, but when it calls for it I will put it out in front. This is all up to you and really depends on what you are trying to do!

Please keep in mind that these are guidelines and tips and by no means are the rules when recording guitar. Get creative and try out your own ideas, but it is always good to have a guideline and to know what will work for you. I hope that you will find these tips helpful and please experiment with different guitars, amplifiers and microphones if you are able as you can get an endless amount of sounds!

To say it's been a bumpy decade for the music industry is a bit of an understatement. After Napster's introduction in June of 1999, we've seen ten years of new formats, declining record sales, lawsuits, and passionate arguments from all sides (artists, labels, the RIAA, and consumers) about the pros and cons of these drastic changes. Has suing music pirates done anything to curb illegal downloads? Has digital file sharing helped new artists reach more fans faster? Where will the industry be ten years from now?

iTunes 9 recently came out, and with it a variety of new "bonus" features that come with selected albums. These iTunes LPs as they're called can include album extras like music videos, digital booklets, artist band photos and more (important note: at this time TuneCore is not yet set up to deliver content as iTunes LPs - we will make a HUGE announcement when we are able to, stay tuned). Features like these have got me thinking about the innovative ways in which stores, labels, and artists have worked towards making incentives to pay for, rather than steal music. In my opinion, the music makers and retailers who stick to the list below will be the ones leading this crazy music business into the future.

1. Stop fighting the changes

The digital revolution was and continues to be scary for those who once made the brunt of their money selling round pieces of plastic. In the wake of peer to peer websites that allowed for people to share and receive music files without spending a dime, the first response of the Record Industry Association of American (RIAA) was to sue the peer to peer services themselves. After this proved only to spawn new peer to peer services, the RIAA turned its sites on the people doing the sharing. Suddenly, people of all ages, shapes and sizes found themselves being sued for thousands and sometimes millions of dollars in damages. I don't mean for this to turn into an argument about the pros and cons of file sharing, but I think most people would agree that these giant lawsuits haven't done much of anything to stop the piracy problem. I remember a particularly pathetic attempt by BMG to create an "unrippable" CD on which to print their new releases. One day after the release of the first disc in this format, it was discovered that by using a black sharpie around the edge of the disc, you could burn and import it with no problem at all.

The moral of the last ten years? It's futile to fight changes in how people consume their content. Consider this: once upon a time, the biggest threat to the industry was that people could use cassette tapes to record songs off the radio. Piracy stinks but as long as music is written and recorded, the danger of it exists. This leads me to my next thought:

2. Sell things that can't be stolen

Maybe people will always find ways to crack codes and steal content in our digital age, but there is money to be made by providing consumers with additional ways to connect to the music they love. Some things to consider:

* Classic merchandise is still very big: T-Shirts, Buttons, Stickers, and even less traditional items like USB drives and Snuggies keep many bands in the black.
* Music "powers" other products: Movies, TV Shows, commercials, video games (The Beatles Rock Band, anyone?), even greeting cards have been great, "non-stealable" ways of getting music out there.
* Give consumers bonus "rewards" for buying: iTunes LP definitely practices this idea - now, instead of just getting music for your money, you get cool additional content as well. Other incentives could include bonus tracks for people who pre-order, providing different formats (CDs, digital downloads, vinyl records), offering limited run "premium" items (coffee table books, first 100 copies signed, etc).
* Don't forget live shows: While music sales may have dropped, concert attendance is as high as ever. Give fans a show to remember and they'll keep coming back!

3. Quality over Quantity

I read this really great interview the other day with the founders of Merge Records (Arcade Fire, Spoon, M. Ward). While other labels, both big and small, have had some really extreme ups and downs over the past 20 years, Merge has remained steady. Instead of pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into every artist they release then praying for one of them to make it big, they focus on putting out the artists they love. If they don't expect to make a ton on the release, they keep recording and promotional costs low. As a result, Merge have positioned themselves as taste makers. When indie music fans see "Merge" on a new artist, they see it as a mark of quality. The lesson in this? The more good product you provide your fans with, the more they will respect and support you. I would argue that whatever shape the music industry may be in ten years from now, the song will always be king.

Our ear and eyes, almost every day always pampered with "live music" programs in television (indonesia), which shows the singer/band. for singers/bands, with many more events like this on TV, giving many of the "Job" to stage performance. for the new artist/band, this is an opportunity to further introduce themselves to the music lovers community more widely. because the influence impression from television are more likely to push up popularity. and for singers/bands that already exist first, will showing the existence of their music.

But, with the presence of programs with the title of "live music" on television is not necessarily a giving positive impact. there are always things that need to be sacrificed for a purpose named "commercials". you may even agree if the most and almost all of the singers/bands that appear at each event is just Lip Sync. yea ... lip sync. just sing with only simulate movement to singing/playing music from recording of their own songs. even the title is live music, but the music they play no more than or like a karaoke.

Sometimes I think and suspects, what and why they want to do that? whether the authority of a program maker (TV people) that requires a singers/bands to perform a lip sync, to minimize the production cost of a live event that needs a not less costs? or the singers/bands itself does not feel the need to give the total performance (live) for a similar event that, because they usually appear only carries 1-2 songs. so no need to fuss preparation appear to live? or.... they may not believe in themselves because their musical skills is ordinary course...? ;-)
