The Upstairs
The Upstairs is an indie band formed in October 2001 in Jakarta by Jimi Multhazam (vocalist) and Kubil Idris (guitar) with musical influences from "New Wave" bands such as A Flock Of Seagulls, Devo, Depeche Mode, and Joy Division. The Upstairs beginnings were DIY in the truest sense. They produced and distributed their first EP, "Antahberantah", in 2002 by themselves and simply through word of mouth and audiencde reaction it, sold like hot cakes. musical characteristics of their danceable, lyrics, song lyrics of implicit and talented, The Upstairs is also famous because of their charisma frontman, Jimi Multhazam that eksentrik and clever words if being performs. Uniquely, the music style that carried The Upstairs has been far more used to appearing before the global explosion of revivalist new wave popular bands such as Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, and so forth.
